David was born on the hallowed eve (October 31st) of the year 1981 in the city of Makati in the Philippine Republic.  Born of Jose and Rosemarie Dino, he was the first-born child of the two.  He lived a relatively peaceful life in the city of Manila for the first 3 years of his life as part of a very well off family who had many connections around the country.  The funny thing was, he was only taught English as his primary language.  Little did he know that this was only the beginning of his long, eventful journey.

Recognizing the importance of raising a child in the late 20th century and understanding the amount of potential the United States had to offer, Jose moved his family from the Philippines to Alexandria, VA in 1984.  Jose, who lived in Virginia before during the late 60’s and 70’s, found transitioning the family life to be very easy.  David learned more and more about American culture (and more important East Coast conservative life) and embraced it like second nature.  Soon after 2 years of living in Virginia before his 5th birthday, David’s family moved to sunny Southern California in 1986.

Once again, in a very strange and different land (especially from Virginia), David once again had to adapt to a very outward, non-conformist West Coast life.  In fact, it worked out for the better.  Once a relatively shy boy, David became an outgoing child.

During his teenage years (high-school), he found himself in conflict.  Trying to determine who he was, he followed many of the typical high school stereotypes, like wearing all Nike apparel, acting cool, and at one short time (keyword short), incorporated the very clique-like West Coast Asian scene (i.e. very baggy clothing, wanting to own a Civic or an Integra, hair slicked back or spiked with bangs in the front).  A tumultuous time, David was very confused and did not know what he wanted to be.  He knew he wanted to be cool and respected, but never really understood what it meant.  After many days and nights of self-analysis, he realized that he didn’t have to be status quo to be “cool.”  As long as David respected himself for who he was and what he really liked, people would respect him for what he was.  Thus David was reborn.

Enjoying the way he was, David began to realize some of his potential.  He began to excel in sports such as soccer (which he loves most dearly), dabble in arts like oil and acrylic painting, and represent his inner most thoughts on paper by way of poetry.  Somewhat of a hopeless romantic, David wrote many poems, lines and lines of the way he felt about love, life, and the other sex, something that allured him most.  In fact, his most important pieces of work were spawned because of his relationship and undying love with his former significant other, Karen.

Not only has David done poetry, he also writes self-analytical journals and songs that encompass what he believes are some of the truest thoughts in human experience.

In college, things were about to change for David that would eventually lead to his present situation.  He was a free spirit who believed that everything was right in the world.  He had a steady girlfriend, was going to school, and had a great future ahead of him.  Majoring in Computer Science, there were many job opportunities open for the gifted man and David did his best to grab as much as possible.  Granted his grades weren’t the best, he continued to strive for the top while engrossing himself in as much college life as possible.  But at the end of his freshman year, David was nearly kicked out of college due to an altercation with another rival dorm.  Another situation that threw David’s life into a spin was during the end of sophomore year when his girlfriend of two and a half years broke up with him.  Heartbroken and losing interest in the steadily declining Computer Science industry, David made a decision that would throw his world in a 180.

On October 23rd, before his 20th birthday, David Dino joined the United States Army.  Feeling that he needed to grow up and not depend on his parents, David literally threw away his “good” life.  Receiving basic training in Fort Benning, Georgia, home of the infantry, David learned to become both mentally and physically tough.  It was a wake up call because he felt he finally matured and gained responsibility for himself.  Soon after graduating from Basic Training, he went to San Antonio to receive his Health Care Specialist training.  That time of his life was full of ups and downs as he enjoyed life with his comrades, yet was still leaning on the past as he dreamed of being with his former love back home.  A trip back home would have reality set in for David as people he knew and people he thought he knew changed, and again heartbroken, David returned to San Antonio vowing himself that he wouldn’t fall in love so easily ever again.  David, after completing schooling in San Antonio, went to Airborne School back at Fort Benning and became even bolder as he trained how to jump out of a plane.

Now residing in Germany, David has begun to enjoy life and himself.  With no regrets, he cherishes every moment that he has.  By no means is he perfect, but David will always criticize himself in order to find what he truly is.

So far, David has traveled to Paris, Munich for Oktoberfest, and Vienna, Austria.
